We emailed over 15,000 golfers with our Super Bowl Total Points promo. Regardless of winner, whatever the Total Points for the game would be the Green Fee the following Sunday, February 14th, 2010. The message went out Saturday afternoon and by Sunday morning prior to kickoff the day was almost sold-out.
This will prove to be our best 1-day promotion ever. It was never about the money, but about creating a buzz for local golfers while tuning into the Super Bowl. Golfers who present an original copy of the email promotion at check-in this Sunday will pay just $48 per player–The lowest price for 18-holes of golf at SFGC in over 12 years!
Congratulations to those of you that were able to get a reservation. With the money you save ($112 per golfer), make sure you spend it on flowers for someone special.

Mike Whan – incoming LPGA Tour Commissioner recently took a golf lesson from Karen Bogen- LPGA Teaching professional here at Strawberry Farms. Read more from LPGA Executive Director Leslie Andrews about how “the new Commish” found our own Karen Starr Bogen and took his lesson as a “secret shopper”. Way to Go Karen, Strawberry Farms Golf Club is very proud of you!

| Hello All:Well, you’ve heard of him, you’ve heard about him…and now you have a chance to hear FROM him.
Please click here to view a video message from incoming Commissioner Mike Whan.
Although Mike technically does not come on board until January 4 th , suffice it to say that he has already been hard at work on behalf of the LPGA. Less than 24 hours after appearing at a press conference in New York to announce his new appointment, Mike was at the Tournament Owners Association meetings in California, getting acquainted with a very important LPGA constituency. He is currently at the Tour Championship in Houston, where he participated in his first-ever LPGA Tour Players meeting announcing the 2010 schedule, he will be at the LPGA Board of Directors meeting in December, and I am delighted to say that he plans to attend the Welcome Reception for the T&CP National Team Championship on Sunday, December 13 th in Palm Desert.
Most importantly, Mike played “secret shopper” and surprised T&CP member Karen Bogen by signing up for a lesson anonymously. Mike started with a search of Find a Teacher on LPGA.com, went for the lesson without telling Karen who he was and came away duly impressed with what Karen had to offer. Way to go Karen, for getting the T&CP off on the right foot with the new boss!
I’m sure you will all join me in welcoming Mike on board, and in wishing him all the best as he leads the LPGA forward to bigger and better things!
