Mike Whan – incoming LPGA Tour Commissioner recently took a golf lesson from Karen Bogen- LPGA Teaching professional here at Strawberry Farms. Read more from LPGA Executive Director Leslie Andrews about how “the new Commish” found our own Karen Starr Bogen and took his lesson as a “secret shopper”. Way to Go Karen, Strawberry Farms Golf Club is very proud of you!
| Hello All:Well, you’ve heard of him, you’ve heard about him…and now you have a chance to hear FROM him.
Please click here to view a video message from incoming Commissioner Mike Whan. Although Mike technically does not come on board until January 4 th , suffice it to say that he has already been hard at work on behalf of the LPGA. Less than 24 hours after appearing at a press conference in New York to announce his new appointment, Mike was at the Tournament Owners Association meetings in California, getting acquainted with a very important LPGA constituency. He is currently at the Tour Championship in Houston, where he participated in his first-ever LPGA Tour Players meeting announcing the 2010 schedule, he will be at the LPGA Board of Directors meeting in December, and I am delighted to say that he plans to attend the Welcome Reception for the T&CP National Team Championship on Sunday, December 13 th in Palm Desert. Most importantly, Mike played “secret shopper” and surprised T&CP member Karen Bogen by signing up for a lesson anonymously. Mike started with a search of Find a Teacher on LPGA.com, went for the lesson without telling Karen who he was and came away duly impressed with what Karen had to offer. Way to go Karen, for getting the T&CP off on the right foot with the new boss! I’m sure you will all join me in welcoming Mike on board, and in wishing him all the best as he leads the LPGA forward to bigger and better things! Leslie Andrews |

Very informative post. I’m discovering more about becoming a better golfer from your blog, then I’ve ever did from even my own golf instructor. Hope it’s ok that I share this post on Google Bookmarks?
